Sewing  Make & Mend Short Course

(run by Westminster Kingsway College)

Mondays 10am – 12.30pm

Learn machine and hand embroidery techniques by contributing to a group project or come with your own ideas of what you would like to make, mend or alter.

Bring your own materials to upcycle.  

A Free course for people over 19 who are carers, people with disabilities or 60+.
There is a £5 contribution to resources used on the course.

Talk & Play Together Workshop

(run by City Lit College)

Mondays 9.30am – 12pm

Free fun sessions & activities for parents to enjoy together with their child/ren.
(Children from 18 months to 3 yrs).

NCFE Level 1 Award in Volunteer (6 weeks – FREE for those on Benefits)

Mondays 9.30am – 3.30pm

This qualification is suitable for you if you are thinking about working as a volunteer or you are already volunteering. This course will provide you with an insight into the role and an awareness of the personal standards required of your volunteering.

Employability with English (FREE)

(run by Working Mens College)

Mondays:  1pm – 3pm

On this course you will develop your skills in the following:

  • English for the workplace
  • CVs and job applications
  • Interview skills            
  • Team working

Childcare Level 2  (FREE for those on Benefits)

(run by City Lit College)

Tuedays 9.30am – 4pm

(Classes do not run during the half term, although you will need to attend a one to one tutorial)

Accredited Course to prepare you to work with children aged between birth and five years, with knowledge of children up to seven years old. Assessment is in a form of a portfolio and practical observations of you with the children. You will be given homework to complete for your portfolio and your tutor will provide you with written and verbal feed back regularly.

Once you have achieved this award you can apply for assistant type positions in the childcare field or you can progress on to a Level 3 childcare qualification.

Starts: 18th September 2018                  Ends: April 2019

We are assessing new learners interested in joining the Childcare course in September 2019.

You will need to be Assessed before attending classes.


Stay Secure & Safe Online

(run by Adult Community Learning in Camden)

Feel more secure and safe when you use your computer. What steps can you take to avoid the pitfalls, malware, viruses, hacking, identity fraud, the scams and data loss. Be a more canny computer user.

Microsoft Office 2016 Taster

(run by Adult Community Learning in Camden)

Get an overview of the four MS Office Applications Word, PowerPoint, Excel and possibly Publisher.

Be aware of the differences between Office 2016 and earlier versions. Practice skills at whatever level you are at. Start as a beginner or keep up with new features.
