Sidings Community Centre –
Update re COVID19 (12th June 2020)
Yes – it’s a big “hi” to everyone from Sidings as lock-down eases and we begin the gradual process of getting the centre ready to re-open some of our on-site services – starting with our Early Years Nursery from mid – June. The centre has just had a deep clean and staff are working hard to ensure we have lots of safety precautions in place to minimise risk. Sadly, the threat of COVD19 will be with us for some time – and the centre will be getting in touch with users and partners to assess how and when we begin to re-start a fuller programme of activities. Inevitably, it won’t be business as usual as we will all have to adjust to a post-coronavirus way of living, working and socialising for the foreseeable future.
Please keep checking our website for weekly updates. If you want to receive news and updates directly, please add your name to our mailing list.
Centre staff may not have been visibly at the centre – but we’ve been busy working remotely to keep in touch and support our users. Our early years, youth and computer teaching staff have been engaging people of all ages with lots of different activities including IT advice and online courses, supporting our early years parents with activities and assisting those whose young children are about to transition to school, youth WhatsApp Group Chats, challenges and videos on art work, health & fitness, and cooking quick healthy snacks – yes, we all remember the constant need to snack! We’ve also been sharing community stories through our social media platforms and been amazed at the wonderful acts of kindness and good neighbourliness in our community.
We will be updating our website frequently as restrictions are updated but in the meantime remember ………………………………………………………
