Introduction
Siding’s Play Service mainly focuses around our School Holiday Play Scheme provision, which runs during most school holidays, for primary school aged children aged 5 – 11 years. We aim to provide an inclusive service, ensuring our play schemes are accessible in terms of costs, and also help parents who are working or caring for others to have a safe place for their children during the school holidays. Our Play Service is led by Aston Stewart, an experienced play, youth and sports worker, and supported by an experienced and qualified multi-skilled play worker team, some of whom also offer their sports skills in a local primary school.

Our Play Service has voluntary Ofsted Registration, ensuring particular support is given to the younger children who may be transitioning from our Early Years Services to help they feel happy and confident when using our play service for the first time. Our play scheme programmes aim to offer a varied and interesting curricula and range of activities which include: arts and crafts, cookery skills, sports and physical activity, book corner, team games, outdoor play using the facilities in the adjacent Maygrove Peace Park, and outings to parks and places of interest
The centre strives to obtain a range of funding from Trusts and other sources, to offer a highly subsidised service (when possible some free places) to enable all children from all families enjoy a stimulating and exciting play experience during the school holiday period, providing the opportunity to make new friends and try out new activities to gain new skills. During the summer 2019 scheme, the centre was particularly pleased to be one of Camden’s hub partners in the new Kitchen Social (holiday hunger) Project which offered free meals to all children attending the play scheme, and healthy snacks for youth members for their outings, and a free breakfast for both children and parents before the scheme opened at 10am. If you are interested in using our holiday play services, please contact the office on 020 7625 6260 or email: office@sidings.org.uk – you will then be added to our mailing list for news of scheme dates and other activities. Details will also be posted on this website.
